S.L.R. Speech Therapy
Meet Stacy
Stacy Rezek, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
I am a speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders. My experiences have come from hospital settings, long term care facilities, rehabilitation programs, home health organizations, community outreach programs, and local schools. Since the beginning of my career, I have never stopped learning, and I love combining my knowledge from all settings to deliver the best possible therapy outcomes!
By nature, I am a coach and cheerleader for my clients. I see the best in people, notice their potential, and work hard to help them achieve their goals. I started S.L.R. Speech Therapy in order to treat the root cause of the communication and health issues that my clients were experiencing, rather than picking away at all of the resulting symptoms. I believe that therapy is most effective when a child’s support team works together– and that’s why I work hard to include parents, school staff, dentists, and other medical professionals in the therapeutic process! Children can make unbelievable progress when everyone is on the same page, working toward a common goal.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Missouri. Since then, I have taken several continuing education courses, including a foundational course in orofacial myology from the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). I am also a member of many professional groups which focus on discussing the latest research-based treatments to optimize client outcomes.
Personally, I love to spend time with my husband and two boys– whether that means hiking, traveling to the mountains, relaxing at the beach, or even watching TV! Being active is important to me, so I enjoy walking, swimming, hiking, and doing yard work. I complete crafts and watercolor paintings as a creative outlet, and love to read books when I get the chance.
